College Bound

The Met Sacramento is proud to have had college acceptances from a wide variety of schools from around the world. This is due to our students working very hard and the support from their families. It's also in part because of our knowledgeable staff. Being a part of a national network is very helpful. having a connection with Sacramento City College while attending the high school insures that Metsters will be successful when they go to college-because most of our graduates have already been in college.

College councelor and professor Dr. Arrickia McDaniel has trained our staff so that our advisors are counselors as well. That's 13 counselors for 250 kids! Compared with most large comprehensive schools were one counselor has 400-700 students on their case load.

The Met

No bells ever sound at The Met. The nearly 300 students at this small high school on the south side of downtown apparently just know when to go to class.

Which is cool, and important to note, because it speaks to how life at The Met—part of a nationwide Big Picture Schools family that offers unique academic choices such as local-business internships and mentor programs—is quite unlike the typical high-school experience.

We believe that true learning takes place when each student is an active participant in his or her education, when his or her course of study is personalized by teachers, parents and mentors who know him or her well, and when school-based learning is blended with outside experiences that heighten the student’s interest. In a country obsessed by “test-score accountability," we promote “one student at a time accountability."

Sports Teams

Metsters may participate in any of the athletic teams at West Campus.

Remember that met students must be approved by their advisor and/or in some cases their principal in order to play. While at West Campus, or every campus, it is important that you represent the Met in a positive manner.

Download the Schoology App for iPhone or Android.

Parents submit your email information HERE and we'll create your Schoology account and link it to your student.

Please also complete a Free & Reduced Lunch Form. Even if you do not think you qualify, if the school has a 90% form completion rate it means more $$ for the school!
