Allen Young has been an educator for over sixteen years. While he has been the founding principal of two schools in his career he knows that the Met Sacramento and Big Picture Learning schools are the innovative wave of the future. He is proud to have started working at the Met in 2006 and even more proud of where the school is headed.
Earning his Bachelors degree at Humboldt State University in 1992 as part of the Indian Teacher Education and Personnel Program (ITEPP) he went on to earn his Masters Degree and various credentials via Sacramento State University. Because he is a glutton for punishment he will finish his doctorate some time before he is seventy. He feels very fortunate to work with such an awesome staff, gifted students and a supportive school community.
Allen is also involved in coaching new principals and supporting other BP schools in California and beyond.
The only thing cooler than his job are his wife and four daughters.
