Katy Hensley - Advisor Class of 2015

Katy Hensley has taught in various capacities for going on ten years. She graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in Child Development and shortly there after, she hopped on a plane headed to Japan. After traipsing around the world a bit teaching English, Katy came back to the United States and fell into working for a Big Picture school as an internship coordinator, as well as in the classroom.

The Met Sacramento hired Katy in 2009 as a junior advisor. The method, theory, and practice of the Big Picture schools are a perfect match for her current love of teaching high school. Big Picture is innovative, challenging, and creative, which allows for exploration of subject matter and the world around us, the very attributes that drew Katy to teaching in the first place. That and the ability to work with wonderful staff, students and families!

When not wrapping up her credentialing courses, Katy loves to take photographs, run, paint, garden, travel, and cook. Man does she love to cook.

Pamela Patterson - Advisor Class of 2014

Pam is very proud to be able to serve her first year as a teacher at the Met, with such a wonderful group of students and staff. She received her degree in math from UC Davis in 2008. Besides working with students, Pam also enjoys hiking, horseback riding, camping, dancing, art, and many different crafts. She has a dog named Ollie and used to own a horse.

She is very excited to be a part of the Met community and looks forward to seeing her freshman grow over the next 4 years!
